Joining the St. Matthew’s Family

Membership at St. Matthew’s Church begins when the date and place of one’s baptism are recorded in the parish register.  All persons who have been baptized in any Christian Church with water and in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are full members of the Episcopal Church when this registration occurs.

There are many opportunities for Newcomers to become more familiar with the Christian faith, the Episcopal tradition, and life at St. Matthew’s Church.  The best way is, of course, to attend Sunday worship and to become involved in parish life, but there are also numerous educational opportunities available.

Our Adult Spiritual Formation classes covering a wide range of topics and are offered every Sunday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.  Baptismal classes are offered twice a year and confirmation/reception classes once.  Classes specifically geared toward Newcomers are also offered from time-to-time.

Persons seeking to become members should contact the Church Office, and ask for an Application for Baptism, an Application for Membership, or if you are transferring from another Episcopal Church, a Transfer of Membership Form.
